SHORT HISTORY
This ministry was birthed in 1970, when God called out Brother Rosemond Romney, now Apostle, senior Pastor and Overseer, to work with young people. He had a passion for helping youth and so he and a few others started organizing wholesome and creative activities for young people all across the island of St. Martin. Social gatherings, concerts and film showings quickly attracted many, and as a result, flocks of young people were led to Jesus Christ.
After a lot of hard work, many battles and an unswerving commitment to God, the church was established to spiritually feed and grow the many youths and adults who had made decisions to know, accept and follow Christ.
Constant growth and ever expanding vision have resulted in what is today the Christian Assembly Ministries. In addition, Apostle Romney is training leaders from the Caribbean and around the world, enabling them to fulfill the calling of God on their lives. As a result, Christian Assembly Ministries is responsible for establishing and adopting churches in the Caribbean and Europe.
Christian Assembly Ministries reaches out internationally and to all of St. Martin through television and radio. This ministry played a vital role in the launching of a Christian news paper, 'The Good News Herald' and was the driving force behind the 'Christian Kingdom Cooperative' a Christian credit and savings union. There is a special commitment to reach government leaders through prayer, by counsel and with a special yearly service honoring encouraging and giving spiritual guidance to them and the civil servants of the nation, both French and Dutch - Christian Assembly's 'Government Day'.
Apostle Romney, with a strong desire to unite pastors and churches locally and internationally, co-founded the One Heart World Fellowship, an international fellowship of ministers and churches, brought together once a year through its annual conference held in the various countries of its members. He helped initiate St. Maarten's United Ministerial Fellowship (SMUMF) established on the Dutch side of the island and also initiated the establishment of "Federation des Eglises de St. Martin" (FEDEG), meaning "The Federation of Churches of French St. Martin".
Internally, the ministry caters to the needs of its members in every way and means possible to help develop and grow each person spiritually, physically, mentally and socially.
